The 84th Love and Caring Action by Volunteers

On June 19, 2021, Dasin Commonweal Volunteer Team once again walked into the home of the disabled youth Xiao Tong (pseudonym) and the autistic youth Ting Ting (pseudonym) to provide caring service and accompany them. The volunteers also brought heart-warming gifts, and made a Father’s Day thanksgiving card and other handicrafts together with them to create a happy time for them.

During this visit, the volunteers prepared love gifts: noodles, dried walnuts, red dates, brown sugar gift packs, and materials for making a Father’s Day greeting card. Seeing the arrival of the volunteers, Ting Ting clapped her hands and Xiaotong immediately walked from her room to the living room to meet the volunteers. The volunteers sat around with Xiao Tong, Tingting and their mother and chatted about their daily life. During the communication, the volunteers learned that Ting Ting is about to graduate from the special school, and then will go to the Occupational Therapy Station to study and work with her sister Xiao Tong. Ting Ting is full of expectations for her future life, and her mother also expressed her belief that Ting Ting is capable of doing the job at the Occupational Treatment Station.

Afterwards, the volunteers specially guided them to make a Father’s Day greeting card and gift flowers for their father, so as to learn to be grateful to their parents. Xiao Tong and Ting Ting were responsible for drawing and writing, and the volunteers were responsible for cutting and pasting. Soon they completed the production of the greeting card and love flowers together. Xiao Tong and Ting Ting were very happy and took pictures of the finished products.

In the process of making the greeting card and love flowers, Ting Ting, who was inspired, invited volunteers to draw pictures and make hand-made glasses after finishing making gifts for Father’s Day. The room is full of happiness. With the completion of small handicrafts one by one, Ting Ting felt very happy and satisfied.

Since pairing with Xiao Tong and Ting Ting’s family, Dasin volunteers have insisted on conducting monthly home visits, showing love and warming care to them, and constantly creating happy times for them. When seeing the happiness brought to them each time, the volunteers feel gratified and satisfied. In the future, the volunteers will continue to provide caring service and create warmth for them.
