The 83rd Love and Caring Action by Volunteers
On May 22, 2021, Dasin Commonweal Volunteer Team once again walked into the home of the youth Xiao Ming (pseudonym) for a caring visit. The volunteers specially prepared the documents about the city’s educational resources, ingredients for making dumplings, and love silk scarves.
Knowing that the volunteers were coming, Xiao Ming and grandma had already waited at the door to greet the volunteers. Upon arrival at Xiao Ming’s home, the volunteers immediately took out the documents about secondary vocational schools in Zhongshan City and discussed with Xiao Ming about the campus conditions, admission scores of previous years, division of majors and other information of each school. Xiao Ming was full of confidence after reading the documents, expressing that he is now fully prepared to meet the senior high school entrance examination, and has confidence to be admitted to one of the top secondary vocational schools in Zhongshan City. The volunteers were very pleased to hear that, and encouraged Xiao Ming to study hard to prepare for the exam, and also told him to learn more about the details of each school and choose a suitable school and major after the exam is over.
After discussing about the schools, the volunteers took out the specially prepared dumpling-making ingredients, and made dumplings with Xiao Ming and grandma for their dinner. As the dumplings took shape one by one, everyone was very happy, and the house is full of warm atmosphere. After the dumplings were made, the volunteers took out the love silk scarf and put it on for grandma. Grandma said very happily, “I’m really grateful to you. Thank you for giving me such a beautiful silk scarf! You know I always feel cold around my neck. I’m so happy!”
