The 73rd Love and Caring Action by Volunteers

        On November 28, 2020, Dasin Commonweal Volunteer Team once again walked into the home of the youth Xiao Ming (pseudonym) in need of care for a caring visit. Volunteers specially prepared milk, nuts and other caring gifts for Xiao Ming. Xiao Ming and his grandma were very happy to see the volunteers’ arrival, and expressed their gratitude to the volunteers for their constant visits and care for them, which made them feel warm.

        During the visit, the volunteers learned about the current situation of Xiao Ming’s family through in-depth communication with Xiao Ming and his grandma: Xiao Ming is currently in the third year of junior high school. Because it is the last year of junior high school, there are many parent meetings in the school, but Xiao Ming’s grandma often can not understand the meeting content when attending parent meetings, and Xiao Ming is very distressed for this. Volunteers suggested Xiao Ming to communicate with his teacher, inform the teacher of the special situation of his home, attend the future parent meetings himself or communicate with the teacher after the meetings, so as to understand the important content of the parent meetings;

        At the same time, the volunteers also learned that his grandpa was unwell, who took medication at home and was taken care of by his grandmother. Due to his old age, his grandpa felt tired and can not sleep well recently. Considering the situation, the volunteers communicated with Xiao Ming, and asked him to share the family affairs for his grandma, and understand his grandma’s difficulties. Xiao Ming told the volunteers that for many years, he knew his grandma’s hardships, and he would help his grandma because he had grown up.

   Since pairing with Xiao Ming’s family, the volunteers have insisted on visiting them every month, hoping to make them feel the constant care from the society through practical actions, so that they will get support and motivation, and continue to move on, even in the face of difficulties.
