The 70th Love and Caring Action by Volunteers

On September 26, 2020, the Mid-Autumn Festival is approaching. Dasin Commonweal Volunteer Team specially brought moon cakes, fruits, deserts and other caring gifts, and once again walked into the homes of the disabled youth Xiao Tong (pseudonym) and the autistic youth Ting Ting (pseudonym) to carry out caring visit services.

Seeing the arrival of the volunteers, Ting Ting was very happy, and immediately took out her latest Mid-Autumn Festival paintings and showed them to the volunteers. After receiving praise from the volunteers, she excitedly took out the special school album, and shared the campus environment, daily activities and other interesting things with the volunteers. In the process of sharing, Ting Ting kept repeating some words, and occasionally had difficulty expressing herself, but with the patience of the volunteers, Ting Ting talked a lot with the volunteers, and sweet smiles often appeared on his face.

Xiao Tong had just returned home after completing the online courses. After knowing that the volunteers had come to visit the home, she was anxious to return home. After getting home, she immediately took the volunteers into her room and shared her things: Xiao Tong was preparing to participate in a speech contest and poetry contest for the disabled, but encountered difficulties in writing and did not know how to enrich the content. The volunteers suggested Xiao Tong to recollect what happened in the past, think about the things that happened and touched her, and enrich the content with divergent thinking. With the encouragement and guidance of the volunteers, Xiao Tong found a new direction for writing.

Dasin Commonweal Volunteer Team has insisted on monthly home visits to long-term subjects in need - Xiao Tong and Ting Ting. With the increase in the number of visits, the relationship between the volunteers and them has continued to deepen. The volunteers’ caring service may be very simple, that is, chatting and playing with them, and proposing feasible solutions for some of the difficulties they encounter; however, over time, the volunteers’ meticulous love and care have converged into a sweet spring of love, bringing happy times to their lives!
