The 69th Love and Caring Action by Volunteers

     On September 20, 2020, the Mid-Autumn Festival is approaching. Dasin Commonweal Volunteer Team specially brought moon cakes, fruits and other caring gifts, and once again walked into the home of the youth Xiao Ming (pseudonym) for a caring visit.

  Through in-depth communication with Xiao Ming and his grandma, the volunteers learned that due to the conflicting relationship between family members, only Xiao Ming and his grandma are left to live on each other. Their daily living can only be maintained by the grandma’s pension, and their lives are very difficult.

      To save daily living expenses, they often cook a small amount of food, and had to starve sometimes. The volunteers are afraid that Xiao Ming and his elderly grandma will be malnourished if they are often short of food. For this reason, the volunteers advised grandma to pay attention to nutrition and cook daily while saving. An enthusiastic volunteer even brought chicken, lean meat and other food to Xiao Ming and his grandma the day after the visit, so as to add nourishment to their meals.

  

  During the visit, grandma often took the hands of the volunteers and said, “Although the current conditions in my family make our lives really difficult, there are often enthusiastic people in society who care for us and make us really feel warm. I also often ask my grandson to study hard so that he can repay the society with his efforts in the future.”

  The volunteers insist on walking into Xiao Ming’s home every month to provide caring services, and follow up the conditions of Xiao Ming and his grandma. They hope that now or in the future, they can do their best to light up hope for them. In the future, the volunteers will not forget their original intentions and will continue to provide in-depth caring services for them, and bring them care and warmth!
