The 31st Volunteer Love and Care Action

On the afternoon of November 24, 2018, the Dasin Public Welfare Volunteer Team launched the 31st Love and Care Action again by visiting the long-term follow-up targets and providing services with love and companion. On the same day, the volunteers visited the disabled youth Xiaotong (pseudonym) and Tingting (pseudonym), a youth with autism, to carry out services at their homes. The two sisters are the long-term service targets of the volunteer team. They have been visiting them every month in the past year, and every time when the targets saw the volunteers, they always felt very happy. 

During the Campaign, the volunteers learned that the work therapy station where the elder sister Xiaotong was often seeking medical treatment was about to be disbanded and she was assigned to another work therapy station, so Xiaotong was very upset. She always wanted to work at an enterprise or start a business like her friends, but her own conditions resulted in the failure to fulfil the desire. As listeners, the volunteers gave some advice and comfort to Xiaotong to make her relieved, and also told her that she could not give up and should continue to look for opportunities and keep the hope for life.

Volunteers were also very concerned about the situation of younger sister Tingting. Tingting has obstacles in communication. In the interaction between volunteers and Tingting, she showed her beloved toys and shared her recent paintings with volunteers. The volunteers also gave a condolence to their mother to ease out her anxiety.

The Dasin Public Welfare Volunteer Team has implemented the “Child Care Program” for one year. During this period, the volunteers have been insisting on monthly visits to the long-term follow-up targets and accompanying with the targets with every single service wholeheartedly, so that they feel the love and respect from the society. When they face the troubles in life, volunteers will accompany with them!
